Chronic Mechanical Low Back Pain

Chronic strain on the muscles of the lower back may be caused by obesity,
pregnancy, or job-related bending, stooping or other stressful postures
which might result in chronic mechanical low back pain. For more information
on chronic mechanical low back pain, read Chiropractic Care For Back Pain.

Low back pain may simulate nerve or muscle irritation or bone lesions. Low
back pain usually follows injury to the back, and the pain may also be a
result of degenerative conditions like osteoporosis or other bone diseases,
arthritis or disc disease, viral infections, congenital abnormalities in the
spine or irritation to joints and discs. Weight gain during pregnancy,
obesity, smoking, stress, poor physical condition and poor sleeping positions
may also contribute to lower back pain.

Patients with chronic low back pain are treated with a combination of
medications for back pain, physical therapy by mode of exercise for back pain
and occupational or lifestyle modifications to curb the causes of lower back
pain. Surgical procedures may be necessary for low back pain relief or other
neurologic involvement from disk disease or spinal stenosis.

Chiropractic therapy, combined with cardiovascular strengthening exercises,
plays a very important role in managing chronic mechanical low back pain
problems. Exercises for back pain help in back pain treatment as an easily
available back pain therapy. The especially designed chair for back pain can
also be used for back pain remedy.
